Simptom Menandakan Aku Perlu Cari Kerja Lain

Carneyz: Awak kerja kat mana?
CD: Kat xxx..
Carneyz: Ooo.. Pakwe awak pulak kerja kat mana?
CD (sambil tersenyum malu): Dia kerja kat xxx, Jalan Semarak. Awak?
Carneyz: Ofis saya dekat2 sini je. Bla, bla, bla...

(Bercakap pasal benda lain tapi berkisar tentang kerja gak)

Carneyz: Erm.. Pakwe awak kerja kat mana?
CD (memandang aku dengan penuh hairan): Awak kan dah tanya tadi?
Carneyz: A'ah la... Alamak... Tak tau la naper ngan saya ni...

(Dalam hati: *&$%!?? Adeeehhhhh!! Malunya! Sah aku dah bengong! Sejak bila aku jadi pelupa teramat dahsyat ni? TIdaaaakkkkkkk!!!)

>> Simptom 'amnesia' sejak akhir2 ni semakin ketara. Rasanya otak aku dah jam disebabkan tension+boring+ntah apa2 lagi. Huhuhu... Menci...

Aku & Angan2

Bangun pagi dengan relaksnya. Pastu menggeliat dengan bestnya. Sambil gosok2 mata, aku bangun untuk gi cuci muka. Hmm... nak mandi ke tak? Sejuknya! Brrrr.... Tak jadi la... Gi dapur, masak air, wat Milo. Sambil kacau2 air ngan sudu, aku pasang tv, tengok Fafaw ngan FBI kat 8tv, pastu on laptop. Check email, then bukak Word sambung buat keje. Lepas siap keje ni, nak gi Midvalley plak tengok movie atau gi MPH baca buku. Seronoknya hidup...

Seronoknya berangan2. Padahal realitinya aku terpacak kat depan monitor, dengan telefon berdering2 sekeliling aku, dengan air milo yang dah sejuk sebab aircond kat ofis ni mengalahkan cuaca kat London, dan ketandusan idea sebab aku kesejukan dan mengantuk.

Aku sebenarnya bukanlah benci sangat pun ngan kerja.

Kerja = bosan + takde life²

Ada sorang kawan adik aku, dia belajar sambil buat part-time kat restoran fastfood. Katanya, 'Kenalah keje.

Kepura-puraan tu menimbulkan ke'tension'an kat kita sebab kita sebenarnya tak suka berpura2. Kesimpulannya, banyak masa tak produktif yang terbuang begitu sahaja.

Bukanlah nak mengatakan kita sengaja tak nak bekerja.

Bukannya sebaliknya.

Tapi, seperti biasa, ni sumer adalah angan2 belaka. Kalau nak bekerja kat rumah, the only choice is to open SOHO (Small office, Home office) atau erti kata lain, bukak bisnes dan kompeni sendiri.

Hmm...

Sebab Aku Bosan Keja Banyak Giler

'Psycho' kan diri-sendiri.

Apsal malas keje ni? Tengok orang kat Johor tu dah hilang rumah, hilang tempat keje sebab banjir.

Aku bayangkan muka suami terchenta bila aku katakan aku nak jadi tukang urut. 'Bapak, bayarannya RM5000 sejam aja. Mantap sekali. Mahu nggak??'

Astaga!

'Langkah mayat abang dulu...! Apa?

Setelah dikumpul-timbunkan alasan2 selama 2 tahun+, hampir berkarat jiwa aku mengenangkan semuanya.

Bingung sekali.

*Hari ini*

Aku dan assistant aku sambil2 mengambil foto t-shirt baru sampai, berbisik2 mengumpat bos.

'Ko tau dia buat apa? Cam sibok benor keluar masuk bilik print something?'
'Tak tau. Buat report untuk annual meeting kot.'
'Iyelah tu. Report tu aku yang buat pastu semalam dia tanya apa lagi nak tambah. Dia tau mintak je.'
'Pastu dia suruh aku carik gambar untuk report tu.'
'Semalam masa meeting tanya apa job kita tengah buat, tapi apa yang dia dah buat takde plak citer.'
'Yang tak puas hati tu dah tau kita sibuk sampai dah nak terbongkang ni pastu tanya projek baru tu sapa nak handle?'
'I think dia dah bosan keje. Kesimpulannya kita dua bos tau.'

How's The Baby WIP?

I heard ur pregnant. You heard wrong, dude. Duh. I'm married for only 1 month. Duh again to you.

Of late every time I picked up the phone:

'So, are you pregnant now? '
'My goodness, pardon moi. I've just got married barely 2 months ago. Why? Cannot sabar to see scary little Carneyz, izit? I assure you my kids will be as scary as their mom.'

My hubby faced the same perplexity - so, made her pregnant already?
What? I'm a baby-making machine is it?

The truth is, when I decided to tie the knot (yeah2, and raised the eyebrows of many people to the point that they have to exclaim, 'why are you getting married??'), I was not too ready to immediately start 'Project Baby No. 1'.

I know a lot of people will scoff and give me a series of lecture, be it a religious ceramah or purely biological, that the MAIN reason we get married is to give birth to future generations. Carneyz, are you trying to contradict Nature?

Well, I'm not. I'm just not ready to shoulder a life-long responsibility of having kids of my own. At least not within this early age of marriage. Once you've got a kid, you can't halfway decide that maybe I'm not ready yet for this. Why? Because what are you going to do with your kid? Stuff them back into where they came from?

The truth is, we married each other because we want a healthy relationship, a relationship that is acknowledged by religion, by family, and practically everybody else. We want to be able to hold hands, to love and show affections to each other without limitations as only entitled to husband and wife.

At this stage, there a so many things that we need to know about each other. We are still earning to adjust our lifestyle to fit each other's. We have our own flaws and limitations, strengths and capabilities, that might contradict and to which we are working out areas we cancomplement or compromise.

We don't want after 20 years of marriage, one of us turn and say, 'You know, we are so different from each other. Let's get a divorce.' Because we didn't take the time to understand, to adjust and learn to live with a person who is not a mirror of us.

Along the way, I'm sure we will bring this marriage to the next level - having our own children. I like babies. I adore them that I want to pick up every babies that I met. I'm sure having my own one day would be a terrific experience. But I want to have one when I feel I am ready and matured enough to handle that tantamount experience.

For the moment, please don't check on my fertility rate and let us enjoy being lazy couple who like to wake up late and go off to wherever we want. Port Dickson as a start.

Graphic Design Part 3

At 3.30pm:

'Carneyz, this is an urgent task. Can you find an agency to print a mock cheque?'
'Uhuh.'
'We need it Monday. Please design the mock cheque.'
'Now?'
'Yes.'
'That means I'll have to email them the artwork before 5.30 pm.'
'I supposed so.'
'I just love this place. It's so... at the spur of the moment thing.'
'Stop being sarcastic and get the job done.'

5.30pm: Sent. Artwork. Above.

Graphic Design Part 2

I haven't been updating this blog for quite some time now. I'm in the midst of having mental block of late. There is a lot of things to do but I couldn't figure out where to start. Where's the starting point? Oh, where art thou, the starting point?

Anyway, another reason is because I am once again (oh joy) playing the role of 'FOC Graphic Designer' for my company. I wonder, if I quit and decide to go full-time into graphic designing, would I get customers and earn huge income? Would you hire a novice graphic designer who designs something like this?

Before I log off, I am currently looking for:

1. A company who sells postcard and can make customized postcard designs
2. A company who sells bookmarks and can make customized bookmark designs
3. A company who sells that crazy 'roadsign' that you stick to your car with messages like 'If You Can Read This, You're Too Close!' or 'Best Looking Driver Around' or 'Honk If You're Dumb' and can make customized designs as well

Very simple, yet very hard to find. Why aren't Malaysian business marketing their products online? It's so hard to find them when we are stuck in the office, trying to source these stuffs.

Meeting with Industry Leaders

Aku kan, paling tak suka meeting tu (cebik bibir tanda menci).

Sebelum masuk meeting tu, assistant aku dah siap2 pesan, 'Good luck, babe!' Babe, it needs more than luck to go through this again and again...

😭

Datuk2 itu berkumpul dengan muka boring. Semua dah penat. Semua dah kompius.

Aku lagi bosan.

Dilema aku:

Aku diam >> mesti dieorg igt - itu young generation aa, local graduate aa, neeevvveeer give any ideas. Whhhhaaat la... No quality!

Idea pertama. Get in the backbone infra.
Issue: How to do? Need huge capital, can do kah?

Idea kedua. Rob Peter to help Paul.
Issue: Cannot rock the boat la, haiyo. So backward that idea. Throw away la.

Idea ketiga. Do mega-project.
Issue: What to do? We are only support service apa mega project ini semua. Karut la.

Idea bodoh aku >> Kita collaborate ramai2 buat networking. Big2 customers nak servis A,B,C,D dan E yg seamless. Currently dieorg amik servis A dari kompeni A, dan servic B dari co. B. Different company means different service platform means different tracking system means higher cost. Why not kita yg compete ngan company A, B, C, D, E tapi offer service yg sama, collaborate sama2 pool in resources develop satu platform, lepas tu kita integrate offer satu pakej ngan klien ngan harga kompetitif. Amacam?

Semua tengok aku budak mentah yg tak tau apa2 >> Budak. Kita cakap pasal projek la. Apa merepek2 ni.

Penat aku fikir tau. Last2 aku simpan saja idea2 aku ni biar masak dlm kepala otak pastu boleh buat sup.

Please la. Bukan aku tak nak tolong kaum-kerabat tau, tapi dieorg pun tak nak tolong diri-sendiri. Offer tempat kat U suruh belajar, dieorang gi bercinta / racing motor / shopping duit biasiswa / buat program tak ingat study bla3x. Walaupun tak sumer buat perkara2 di atas, tapi segelintir yg buat umpama nila setitik, rosak susu sebelanga. Amma...

Ulang suara. Bosan.

'Cik.. Puan. Adik.. Kakak.'

Semalam kiteorang amik cuti utk menyelesaikan urusan2 kerajaan. Adakah patut, anniversary bulan pertama dihabiskan utk berjumpa pegawai2 kerajaan?? Apa nak buat. Dah namanya urusan kerajaan.

Pagi tu sebelum bertolak, dengan semangat berkobar2 nak buat nasi goreng dengan nasi yg dier masak malam sebelumnya (kononnya nak makan malam tapi lepas solat, dua2 tertido sampai pagi sebab keletihan giler balik dari opis) kiteorang pun ke dapur memanaskan periuk. :p) so aku pun decide utk buat bubur je la.

Aku: Apa kata tuang 2 gelas air dalam rice cooker ni, jadi bubur tak?

Dia: Cuba la.

Setengah jam kemudian, kiteorang sama2 menjenguk keadaan nasi dalam rice cooker tu. Nasi telah menjadi nasi semula! Marveles! Walah2x!

Tapi by that time, kiteorang dah teringin nak makan benda lain pulak so nasi tu KIV utk dimakan kemudian :p Hehe.

Lepas sarapan, kiteorang gi ke Wangsa Maju sebab aku nak renew passport. Sebelum ni, macam2 citer aku dengar yang penduduk Sabah/Sarawak tak boleh renew passport kat Semenanjung Malaysia, bla2x. So before pegi aku call Jabatan Imigresen yang mengesahkan bahawa itu sumer khabar2 angin belaka.

Pegawai (P): Nama cik siapa?

Aku: Carneyz.

P: Cik Carneyz keje kat mana?

Aku: (alamat ofis aku)

P: OK. Adik letak ibu jari tangan kat scanner cap jari tu ye.

Lepas kawen, layanan tu dah kureng sket ye. Hehehe...

Msjbox

I know everybody is anxiously waiting for Msjbox to return to normal again. Enough messages of 'Congratulations! When can we have our Msjbox back?' tell me that girl, whatever your wedding is like, the most important thing is we need to know when we can use Msjbox! Give us our Msjbox!

Oh, all right fellas. Stay cool and calm. Chill it. I was just joking *wink*

The sad truth is, Msjbox is down because *let me try to explain as best as I could since I am not the SME (subject matter expert) here* the current bandwidth couldn't support the traffic and so the service provider has demanded for more money to, I suppose, upgrade the server *scratch my head* or whatever *must always punctuated my sentence with this term when in doubt*.

In conclusion, the Msjbox creator a.k.a. Junaidix a.k.a. my dearest Beloved *blush* (no more 'Biarlah Rahsia', the moment we posted the wedding invitation) and myself, after our wedding has diminished our accounts considerably, will not be able to resuscitate Msjbox for the moment until we top up our account again.

...

Yes *nod sadly*. I guess everyone including myself will have to wait until we manage to crawl out of poverty to pay the fees imposed by the service provider in order to get Msjbox to operate again, back to normal. Wish us luck, everyone.

In Love With The Man Who Strapped The Tong Beras To The Safety Belt

What do all newly-married couples do?
Haha! If you think I'm going to tell some juicy stories, my dears, you all are in for a big disappointment. All newly-married couples like us go shopping. Shop, shop, shop with the money given by our well-wishers.

As soon as we came back from Sarawak, the first thing we did was to buy a few items for our new house. Like that nice bathroom cabinet with a mirror to put our toothpaste / brush, facial cleanser, soap, shampoo etc. I love smart items that don't take up too much space. So I was practically in love with that cheap cabinet.

Or dry ingredients to cook up meals since our pockets dah terbakar habis. On one occasion, we went to Giant in our Cute Little Kancil (CLK again, the bigger version) to get some kitchen items and ingredients to cook nasi ayam (after all, I take seriously the advice that says 'The way to a man's heart is through his stomach).

We piled everything in the trolley and then made our way back to the car. Since we bought a big tong beras to store the pack of rice, we just dumped all the small items in the big container so that it'll be easy for us to carry the groceries up to our house.

At the traffic light, the car jerked hard and my first reaction was to turn behind and catch the tong beras before it fell off, spilling the ingredients and breaking the pack of eggs inside. The least that I expect to see is the tong beras sitting demurely and happily, safely strapped to the car seatbelt at the back of the car.

'Babe, did you do that?'

Without missing a beat, he promptly replied, 'Safety first.'

And I leant back and laughed so hard at the comical look of the tong beras, and the effort my dearest husband made to make his wife cackle at it.

Maybe marriage is not so bad at all.
